How and when did we move from remote work to remote proposals and weddings please?
Hi my queen,
So yesterday, I stumbled on a post of a proposal. Cute right?
Well, it wasn’t your regular “will you marry me?” proposal o. This one happened online. As in no man there, just the babe, ring, decorations and flowers.
In fact don’t let me say too much go and see the video here first
At first I said “Awww, love in the age of technology.”
But the longer I stared at her putting on the ring herself, the more my head started to do viam viam
Like, is this what we’re doing now? Proposals in absentia?
What happened to eye contact? Shaky voice? One-on-one “baby will you marry me?” with witnesses shouting in the background?
And it doesn’t stop there o. I remembered one viral wedding where the groom couldn’t make it to Nigeria, so they printed his picture on a frame, dressed him in agbada, and placed him at the altar.
They did everything. Traditional rites, dancing, even kissing the frame 😭.
And now I have to ask…
Is this where we are now?
Is love now served remotely, like Google Meet invites?
I mean, I get it. Life happens. Visa no gree, embassy is showing you shege, ticket money is on the rise. But should we really be doing wedding milestones when one party is not even physically there?
Imagine planning your whole traditional wedding… and your man is only “present” via projector screen with his parents standing in for him. Or you get engaged over WhatsApp call?
Some people are saying, “Aww, love finds a way,”
Others are whispering, “As long as you’re happy o.”
So I bring the matter to you all, my fellow overthinkers:
Do you think this remote proposal & wedding thing is romantic and modern or is it giving desperate times, desperate measures?
Even proposals have evolved, why is your business still stuck in 2015?
Let’s be honest.
We’ve moved past the era of banking only during work hours, endless queues, and “please try again later” errors. The world is moving fast and if your business wants to stay in the game, it has to move with it.
That’s where Busha Business comes in.
• Accept payments from anywhere, instantly
• Protect your money from currency crashes
• Access your funds anytime (yes, even at midnight)
• Automate the boring stuff so your business runs smoothly with or without you
If people can build a whole marriage from two time zones, you can definitely run a business without borders.
“This should not even be a fantasy but I just want my clothes to dry😭 They’ve been on the line for four days now”
- She’s the “little children” in that rain rain go away song😭
