Work romance? Tcheew
PS: This is my very biased take
When I hear work romance, I personally cringe.
But maybe because I can’t even imagine dating any of my current colleagues. Sorry o, but none of them are my type.
Maybe the case will be different if Rege Jean Page were a colleague of mine.
For context:
Till then, it’s a NO for me.
Through some amebo research I did, i’ll be supporting these few points of mine.
Meet my supporters:
Ivie, 26.
It was my boss at the first company I worked at when I came back. Our colleagues always joked that he was married with kids but I had spoken to him and gone to his house where he lived with his housemate so it was hard to believe. Anyway, we started going out and I found out he was married (no kids) after two months and he brought his elder sister to the office to beg me saying they’ve been separated and just not gotten a divorce etc💀 so embarrassing. I left the company after that and never spoke to him again.

I'm a solid believer in not mixing business with pleasure. Every situation is unique so it's up to you to gauge how much you are willing to risk. You have to be OK with knowing if things go sour this person might talk about you to your coworkers and these coworkers may know about your personal business.
A lot of couples don't have to see each other after a breakup but if you do get into one at work, that option isn't there.

Don't play where you get paid.
Office romances are wonderful and exciting until they interfere with work. If they ends, it becomes the drama of the week with the staff. I actually had two employees get in a fight over an office romance when one got jealous. It was horrible.

Pro: you get to see each other everyday.
Con: if it ends, you get to see each other everyday.
I fell in love at work years ago. I was only 26 then but I knew enough to quit my job and then date that guy. We were together for a year. It ended really badly. I was glad I didn't have to see him everyday. That would've been hard.
All of these stories basically summarize my point.
But then again, you may meet a certain someone who makes you feel like it’s all worth it. I personally work with two colleagues who fell in love at work and are currently married.
So maybe it’s not entirely a disastrous idea. It’s just my opinion.

“I am a Team Lead. My Salary is 100k”
I am tired of my job. I just started this job less than six months ago because I needed the money and the experience. I have been out of work for 3yrs. I am a team lead. My salary is 100k but after tax almost 10% is gone. I do everything I am asked but my boss is never satisfied. He will always find something you are not doing well. The worst is that I have not been provided with tools for work such as laptop, fuel etc but I still find a way to do what I am supposed to. But I am expected to deliver when my work requires this things to thrive. I have cried more than two times on this job. I want to quit but I need to get another job first . This is just the surface story.

MY ADVICE
If I were a team lead for 100k. I would make sure everyone is led astray. I may not know the scope of your work, but that’s a very meagre amount for a team lead to take home. On top of that the boss sounds like someone who’s always looking for loopholes and that’s not a great place to thrive. Have you started looking for new jobs? Please do. I personally don’t think this stress is worth it. If you are having difficulties securing one, please join our telegram community here. So many people on there share job opportunities everyday.
